Police speak out on alleged army raid on former IGP’s home

Enanga said that this appears to be nothing less than propaganda to tarnish the image of the former IGP and security.

Kampala: The police have refuted the allegations that soldiers raided the home of the former Inspector General of Police (IGP), Martin Okoth Ochola, in Bweyogerere.

The clarification follows rumors circulating on social media that soldiers raided the home of retired IGP Ochola.

Fred Enanga, the police spokesperson, asked the public to ignore the baseless rumors asserting that the former IGP continues to lead a peaceful retirement at his home.

‘’Please disregard social media rumors that today (Wednesday) soldiers executed a raid on the former IGP’s home in Bweyogerere,’’ Enanga refuted the rumors.

Enanga added that the former Inspector General of Police continues to lead a peaceful retirement at his home, which makes the rumors offensive and completely false.

‘’The public should know that the home is in a developed neighborhood, where any increased activity would have attracted attention from the neighborhood,’’ he added.

Enanga said that this appears to be nothing less than propaganda to tarnish the image of the former IGP and security.

‘’This therefore appears to be nothing less than propaganda to tarnish the image of former IGP and security; kindly ignore the baseless rumors.’’
