Police rescue suspected robbers from mob

Arua: Police in Arua City are detaining eight suspected robbers who were waylaying revellers from High 5 disco Theque on the way and robbing them of their properties.
Josephine Angucia, the West Nile Regional Police Mouthpiece, explains that two of the eight suspects were seriously beaten by the angry mob.
‘’We rescued and rushed them to Arua Regional Referral Hospital for treatment under guard.’’
The incident happened on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at around 3 a.m.
Angucia explains that a team from Arua Central Business Division, the Flying Squad attached to West Nile, and foot patrollers responded to the Ediofe area after hearing three gunshots in the Ediofe trading center in Ayivu West Division, Arua City.
The regional police mouthpiece asserts that upon reaching Ediofe, they established that thugs were way-laying people who were coming from High 5 disco Theque on the way and were robbing them of their properties.
It was established that the bullets were shot by police officers attached to Ayivu West Division, Arua City, who had responded to the scene of the robbery earlier.
