Pece Primary School Old Pupils donate stationery to boost candidates ahead of PLE
She notes that they want to give back to their former school, the school she says groomed them to become who they are right now.

Gulu: As the Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) is around the corner, Pece Primary School in Laroo-Pece Division has embarked on having their candidates sit the examination twice a week to prepare them more for the PLE examination.
Due to the number of examinations being offered to the candidates, the school has run out of stationeries, hence prompting the school administration to seek help from the old pupils of Pece Primary School.
However, on Friday, the old pupil delivered a total of ten reams of papers worth 180,000 shillings.
The stationaries were delivered by Kelly Komakech, the former LC3 chairperson of Pece Division in the then Gulu municipality, and Pamela Akera, all of the cohorts of 1997.
When delivering the ream, Kelly Komakech says they are preparing to deliver sanitary pads, mathematical sets, and pens worth 600,000 shillings to all 66 candidates.
Komakech says due to examination pressures, some girls start experiencing menstruation during the course of the examination, which he says may be emotionally disorganized.
Pamela Akera, organizing secretary for “help candidates,” says the initiative is part of the social cooperative’s responsibility.
She notes that they want to give back to their former school, the school she says groomed them to become who they are right now.
Ms. Akullu Santa Oketa, head teacher at Pece Primary School, cherished old pupils for the donation, saying it comes timely when the school has run out of stationery.
She is now hopeful that the school is going to meet their target by providing a series of revisions and examinations to their candidates to see them excel in PLE.
Akullo pleads with the rest of the other old pupils to keep supporting their former school in any way possible.
Ociti Jimmy, the chairperson of PTA Pece Primary School, says the school is struggling to collect PTA money from the parents, the money that is supposed to be used to purchase the stationery.
Pece Primary School has a total enrollment of 764 pupils.
