Over 400 complete ICT training program in Kitgum

Kitgum: More than 400 individuals from the greater Orom, Namokora, Omiya Anyima, and Mucwini areas have successfully completed an intensive two-week ICT training program.
The hands-on training, which focused on computer applications, culminated in a closing event at the subcounty headquarters in Mucwini.
The ceremony held recently was attended by various dignitaries, including the Managing Director of Huawei Technologies Company Ltd., the Kitgum District Chairperson, subcounty leaders, parents, and community members.
This initiative, aimed at empowering people with information and communication technology (ICT) skills, was made possible through the efforts of the State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Oryem Henry Okello, in collaboration with Huawei Technologies Company Ltd. and the Ministry of Gender, Labour, and Social Development.
In his address to the audience, Mr. Nick Young Cung, the Project Director at Huawei Technologies Company Ltd., praised Minister Oryem Henry and all stakeholders for their dedication to implementing the training program.
He highlighted the program’s success in narrowing the digital divide and preparing youth for the digital era.
Mr. Arwai Christopher Obol, Chairperson of Kitgum District, expressed gratitude to Huawei Technologies Company Ltd. for their work during this event.
