UG Decides 2026

Musibikha strengthens political ground in Manafwa district

Her campaign emphasizes transparency, accountability, and inclusivity, and her comprehensive manifesto has positioned her as a candidate with both vision and practical solutions.

Manafwa: In a wave of growing grassroots enthusiasm, Annett Musibikha, a prominent candidate for the Woman Member of Parliament seat in Manafwa District, is rapidly cementing her status as a frontrunner in the 2026 general elections.

Running on the campaign slogan “Let’s tour and implement Manafwa District,” Musibikha’s message of hope, empowerment, and development is resonating widely among constituents hungry for change.

Her campaign has been marked by an energetic district-wide tour, where she has engaged local residents directly listening to their concerns, presenting her policy agenda, and galvanizing support from all corners of the community.

On May 7, 2025, Musibikha’s campaign reached a new peak during a massive rally held at Buweswa Secondary School, organized by five sub-counties in Manafwa East.

The event drew thousands, including boda-boda riders, women groups, youth leaders, and elders, all eager to witness and support her vision for the district.

“Annett Musibikha is the leader we have been waiting for,” said Gerald Watamba, a resident of Bunabuzale Sub-county. “Her manifesto is tailored to our needs, and we have no doubt that she will deliver on her promises.”

In her address to the jubilant crowd, Musibikha expressed deep gratitude for the overwhelming support and reaffirmed her dedication to transforming Manafwa through inclusive development.

“I am humbled by your trust in me,” she stated. “Together, we will build a future where healthcare, education, and economic opportunity are accessible to all.”

A standout moment during her speech was her bold pledge to lobby for the construction of the long-overdue Manafwa–Bududa road, a key infrastructural link that many residents believe is vital for the district’s economic growth. “As your representative, I will not rest until this road is built,” she declared, “and our district is connected to the rest of the country.”

Musibikha’s growing support base reflects a broader hunger for accountable leadership in Manafwa District, which, despite its natural beauty and rich culture, continues to grapple with poor infrastructure, limited healthcare and educational services, and underdeveloped agriculture.

Her campaign emphasizes transparency, accountability, and inclusivity, and her comprehensive manifesto has positioned her as a candidate with both vision and practical solutions.

As the 2026 elections approach, Musibikha’s rise suggests she is not only a strong contender for the Woman MP seat, but also a symbol of hope for many who believe in the promise of a better Manafwa.
