Lamwo district leadership asks development partners to widen scope of their projects
He also appreciated the collective efforts of the headteachers, teachers, and other stakeholders in achieving the project's goals.
Lamwo: The Lamwo District Education Officer, Mr. Langoya Barnabas, has asked development partners to consider expanding the scope of their projects to cover other parts of the district.
He made this appeal during the closure of the Education Cannot Wait Project by AVSI, held at the Bomah Hotel, Palabek, in Lamwo district recently.
According to Barnabas, the project, which emphasized the inclusive of learners in primary and secondary schools, has been instrumental in providing psychosocial support to six primary schools and two secondary schools within the Palabek zone.
He requested that any new project developments consider expanding their scope.
The Lamwo RDC, Mr. Oceng Geoffrey Osborne, recognized that the project has been result-oriented due to good facilitation by the partners. However, he stressed that education is a service for humanity with little financial reward.
Mr. Opiyo Samuel Baker, the Lamwo district principal assistant secretary, who represented the CAO, acknowledged the contributions of the partners and the effectiveness of the duties executed by AVSI.
He called for more emergency response initiatives in education, noting the positive changes these have brought to the department.
He also appreciated the collective efforts of the headteachers, teachers, and other stakeholders in achieving the project’s goals.
