Kitgum: The Kitgum District Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Mr. Ssegawa Jimmy Ebil, has urged the youth of Kitgum to leverage sports as a transformative platform for business discussions and opportunities.
He highlighted that football is not just a leisure activity but a significant business sector that can provide employment, develop talents, and foster socio-economic transformation in the district.
Mr. Ssegawa also noted that football can build friendships and position Kitgum as a sports hub, generating dividends from hosting games.
He made this remark recently while officiating at the 2024 Kitgum Corporate Football Gala held at the Kitgum Technical Institute playground in Pager Division, Kitgum Municipality.
Mr. Ssegawa also emphasized the importance of tapping into available government programs like the Parish Development Model (PDM) funding to integrate themselves into the money economy.
The presidential representative pledged the government’s commitment to enhancing security and the general business environment to ensure that corporations can benefit from the favorable investment climate in the country.
