Hoima City NRM structure assured of spearheading President Museveni’s campaigns
He advised party flag bearers to maintain transparency, especially regarding financial matters, to ensure smooth campaign operations.

Hoima: The Vice Chairman of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) for the Western Region, Hon. Jonard Asiimwe, has assured the public that the NRM structures in Hoima City are ready to spearhead President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s campaigns in the upcoming general elections.
Speaking during a press conference held at Hoima Resort Hotel, Hon. Asiimwe called upon all NRM structure members to unite at the ward level to ensure effective mobilization of votes for both President Museveni and all NRM flag bearers.
He urged members to respect all offices involved in governance and security, including LC1 Chairpersons, Resident City Commissioners (RCC), and District Internal Security Officers (DISO), emphasizing that such cooperation is vital for securing victory in the forthcoming elections.
“We need to stand united behind our President and all NRM candidates. I am not ready to work with opposition members. Let’s secure an overwhelming win for President Museveni to ease his efforts in lobbying for national development,” Hon. Asiimwe stated.
He highlighted Hoima City’s strategic importance and called on residents to ensure the city delivers a high percentage of votes. Citing key government projects such as road infrastructure, the oil refinery, and a stadium, he said these developments are a sign of the President’s commitment to the region.
“With the development Bunyoro has witnessed under President Museveni, it is only right that we appreciate him with overwhelming support at the ballot,” he added.
Hon. Asiimwe further urged NRM flag bearers to refrain from political segregation, encouraging them to embrace all voters, regardless of past political affiliations, emphasizing that every citizen has the right to vote freely.
In response to a request by Hoima West Division Mayor Robert Kyomuhendo, who called for the use of local NRM structures instead of bringing in external mobilizers, Hon. Asiimwe promised to establish 16 altars across Hoima City. These altars will serve as regular meeting points for strategizing and mobilization.
During the same meeting, Resident City Commissioner (RCC) Badru Mugabe assured the public that security in Hoima City remains calm and under control, noting that the environment is conducive for peaceful campaign activities.
Meanwhile, Jackson Amanya, a historical member of the NRM, advised party flag bearers to maintain transparency, especially regarding financial matters, to ensure smooth campaign operations.
