Acholi students tipped on achieving their goals

Acholi: Students from various colleges in the Acholi subregion have been encouraged to plan, work hard, and take deliberate steps toward achieving their future goals.
This message was delivered by retired Maj. Gen. Fred Tolit, who served as the guest speaker during the weekly school assembly and community hour at Rev. Jabuloni Issoke Memorial College in Pager Division, Kitgum Municipality, recently.
Maj. Tolit emphasized the importance of having a vision and planning for the future, noting that life presents many challenges.
He urged students to understand the purpose of their education and to actively apply the practical knowledge they gain in school to their lives.
He also highlighted the importance of having the fear of God and committing to His Ten Commandments as guiding principles for their journey.
In his address, retired Maj. Gen. Tolit praised teachers for being the foundation of all achievements in life and encouraged students to cooperate not only with their parents but also with their teachers.
Mr. Okello James, the deputy headteacher of Rev. Jabuloni Issoke Memorial College, supported the idea that learning requires a multi-sectoral approach involving both the school and the community. He urged students to adhere to good practices in their educational journey.
The college chaplain, Rev. Komakech Nicholas, echoed the importance of fearing God, describing it as the beginning of wisdom and emphasizing that God is mightier than any challenge they may face.
