SAD! Falling tree kills child in Pader

At the time, three young children, including the deceased, were playing in the compound.

Pader:  A tragic incident occurred in Omuny-lee Village, Aringa Parish, Tee-nam Subcounty, Pader District, where a two-year-old boy, Komagum Ramsey, was killed by a falling tree.

According to Inspector of Police (IP) Oloya Joe, the Regional Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), the incident happened when Mr. Okidi Charles, a 25-year-old resident of the village, was cutting down a tree about 70 meters from his home.

At the time, three young children, including the deceased, were playing in the compound.

IP Oloya explained that as the tree was about to fall, the children unexpectedly ventured into the area. Tragically, the tree fell in their direction, striking Komagum Ramsey and killing him instantly. The other two children narrowly escaped injury.

The incident has been classified as one of rash and negligent acts, and the case has been registered at Puranga Police Station. Statements from relatives and witnesses have been taken to assist with investigations.

The Scene of Crime Officer (SOCO) documented the scene, and the body of the deceased was transported to Pajule Health Center IV for a postmortem.

IP Oloya urged the public to remain calm while investigations continue, assuring the community that the police are working diligently to resolve the matter.
