Suspected lunatic stabs two people in Masindi

The family is now planning to take him for rehabilitation and medical treatment.

Masindi: Two women sustained injuries this morning after being attacked by a suspected lunatic in Masindi town.

The incident occurred along Sebegala Street when a man, identified as Humphrey, 20, allegedly stabbed Scovia Aniirwoth and another unidentified woman using a knife. Humphrey is said to be a resident of Kirasa cell in Masindi municipality.

Residents swiftly intervened, arresting the suspect and handing him over to Masindi Police Station, where he remains in custody as investigations continue.

A relative, identified only as Kajuma, revealed that Humphrey developed mental health issues due to substance abuse. The family is now planning to take him for rehabilitation and medical treatment.

Efforts to get a comment from the police were unsuccessful at the time of this report.
