Kyabazinga Gabula urges Basoga to unite and combat poverty

Jinja: In a recent gathering at Igenge Palace in Bugembe, His Majesty William Wilberforce Gabula Nadiope IV, Kyabazinga of Busoga, together with Her Royal Highness Jovia Mutesi, hosted a luncheon for Basoga public officers.
The meeting, aimed at fostering development in the region, brought together public servants and experts who presented their strategies to improve the lives of the Basoga people.
The Kyabazinga called for urgent action to address the challenges facing the region, including teenage pregnancies, early marriages, food insecurity, high school dropout rates, and widespread poverty. He emphasized the need for unity and collaboration with the Kingdom in tackling these issues.
“Together, we must find solutions to these challenges. Let us work as one to uplift our people and strengthen the Busoga region,” Kyabazinga Nadiope IV urged the attendees.
Key figures such as Dr. Joseph Muvawala, Katukiro of Busoga, and his deputy Alhaji Osman Noor, commended the dedication of the public officers. Dr. Muvawala reminded everyone of their personal responsibility in driving development at the local level, encouraging them to lead by example.
Aggrey David Kibenge, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Gender, Labour, and Social Development, also shared his vision for the socio-economic transformation of Busoga.
He called for collective action at all levels of government to ensure rapid and sustainable development. Kibenge further highlighted efforts to tackle malaria, a major issue in the region, which contributes to poor health outcomes and stunted growth in children.
