Mbale: The Inzuyamasaba cultural institution has received donations valued at 100 million Ugandan Shillings from the Sino Industrial Park in Mbale. These items are intended to assist victims of the recent landslides in Bulambuli.

Steven Masiga, the spokesperson for the Bamasaba Cultural Institution, confirmed the receipt of various items, including 200 mattresses, 50 T-shirts, 80 bed sheets, 200 pairs of jeans, 400 playmats, 70 additional bed sheets, 10 boxes of sanitary pads, 200 pieces of Bitenge fabric, and more.

These items were donated to the survivors through Inzuyamasaba, following a formal request made by the cultural institution to the Sino Industrial Park management in Mbale.

Masiga emphasized that the items would be delivered to the victims in Bulambuli without delay, expressing gratitude on behalf of the Bamasaba Cultural Institution and the Umukuka (cultural leader) for the generous contribution from the Chinese management.

The donations came from various companies within the industrial park, including Grace Form Company, Soft Care Company, Wenway Company, Boi Company, Grace Mats Company, Xinilong Company, Rongshen Company, Grace Textile Company, Fascen Company, Wekom Company, among others. The donations were distributed to over 2000 residents of Bulambuli, with priority given to vulnerable groups such as people with disabilities (PWDs), pregnant women, children, and the elderly. Many of these individuals had been living in difficult conditions, sleeping on the ground without basic necessities like bed sheets.

Among the beneficiaries were individuals like Nambozo Oliver, Namono Grace, Wolayo Eliza, and Nabutuwa, who expressed their gratitude to the Umukuka and the Chinese donors. The distribution was carried out with the assistance of the Disaster Committee of Inzuyamasaba and UPDF soldiers attached to the cultural institution.
