SAD! Woman found dead in suspected suicide

Statements from witnesses and relevant parties have been recorded as part of the ongoing inquiry.

Pader: The community of Omok-ngom B Village, Lamin Ajiko Parish, was struck by tragedy following the death of Auma Joan, 28, in what police suspect to be a case of suicide.

Inspector of Police Oloya Joe, Acting Police Spokesperson for Aswa East, confirmed the incident, revealing that it followed a reported quarrel between Auma and her husband, Ocen Robinson, 31. Ocen, a PTA teacher at Lamin Ajiko Primary School, reported that Auma left their home at Lamin Ajiko Teachers’ Quarters after the disagreement.

Ocen later found her hanging with a yellow rope inside an isolated grass-thatched house a short distance from their home.

He reportedly tried to save her by removing the rope and raised an alarm, prompting neighbors to come to the scene.

Inspector Oloya stated that a case of suspected murder has been registered at Puranga Police Station to allow thorough investigations.

Statements from witnesses and relevant parties have been recorded as part of the ongoing inquiry.

This incident highlights the critical need for increased access to mental health services and conflict resolution mechanisms, particularly in rural communities, to address underlying issues and prevent such tragedies.
