Tenant arrested for threatening landlord after defaulting on rent
A case of threatening violence has been registered.
Wakiso: A 50-year-old lawyer, Iduuli Ronald, has been arrested by the Kampala Metropolitan Police after allegedly threatening his landlord, Kabira Lydia, a 44-year-old nurse, following a rent dispute.
The incident occurred on December 10, 2024, when Kabira reported to the police that Iduuli, who had been renting her property in Kireka-Bbira village for the past three years, had defaulted on rent payments for the last 10 months.
The situation escalated when Ronald began appearing in a UPDF uniform and allegedly made threats of violence.
Patrick Onyango, Police Spokesperson for the Kampala Metropolitan Area said a joint operation between police and UPDF officers led to his arrest. A search of his residence uncovered several items, including a pair of UPDF digital uniforms, a handbook on the law of war for armed forces, a certificate of discharge from the UPDF dated 2016, and a pen labeled “People’s Front for Freedom.”
The suspect is currently in custody at Bulenga Police Station, where investigations are ongoing. A case of threatening violence has been registered.
