SAD! Two family members electrocuted in Kamuli

Kamuli: Police are investigating a tragic incident in which two people were electrocuted in Buduli Zone, Nabigulu Parish, Kamuli District.
The victims, identified as 52-year-old Kazibila Tapenesi and her 26-year-old daughter, Nabirye Majeri, lost their lives early Sunday morning after coming into contact with a live electric wire.
According to reports, the incident occurred around 6:00 AM when Kazibila was washing clothes and hanging them on a clothesline. The wire, which had been left hanging nearby, was live, and when Kazibila accidentally touched it, she was electrocuted. In a desperate attempt to rescue her mother, Nabirye also came into contact with the live wire and was electrocuted, leading to her tragic death.
Busoga North Police spokesperson, Michael Kasadha, confirmed the incident and reported that the bodies of the victims were transported to Kamuli General Hospital for postmortem examination. “The lifeless bodies were conveyed to Kamuli General Hospital for postmortem examination,” Kasadha stated.
The police have urged the public to be vigilant and report any sightings of live wires or other hazardous electrical issues to the relevant authorities in order to prevent further tragedies.
This unfortunate event has left the local community in shock, and authorities are calling for increased safety measures to protect residents from similar incidents.
