Bunyoro clan football tournament postponed due to King’s illness

The initiative also seeks to foster unity among the people of Bunyoro, according to Kyomugisa.

Hoima: The Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom has postponed the 3rd Annual Enganda Football Tournament and Amasaza Bicycle Race, originally set to start on October 25, 2024.

The new dates will be announced later, as the decision was made in light of the king’s illness.

Frankline Kyomugisa, the Kingdom Communications Manager, explained that the postponement will allow more clans to register, which is a prerequisite for participation in the tournament. Currently, 30 clans have registered, with over 20 more in the process.

Kyomugisa emphasized the importance of using registered clans for mobilization, as they have established structures at the village level.

He noted that the football tournament aims to promote talent in the region, providing opportunities for local players to be scouted by clubs.

The initiative also seeks to foster unity among the people of Bunyoro, according to Kyomugisa.

Kyomugisa encouraged clans to continue their registration efforts and urged individuals interested in participating in the bicycle race to register with their respective county chiefs.
