Kitgum student killed in suspected love triangle

Kitgum: Police in Kitgum Municipality are investigating circumstances under which a senior five student was murdered and the body dumped along the road in Lulojo Cell.

The deceased has been identified as Daniel Ocira, a student of Kitgum High School in Kitgum Municipality.

The lifeless body of Ocira was discovered Thursday morning dumped along the road in Lulojo Cell in Central Division, Kitgum Municipality.

Sources told this publication that the deceased is suspected to have had a fight with other men Wednesday night over a girlfriend, which resulted in his death.

Mr. Opoka Christopher, the headteacher of Kitgum High School, confirmed that Ocira Daniel attended both terms one and two in the 2024 academic year but did not report for the final term.

‘’He attended both first and second term academic terms for this year; however, he didn’t surface for the third academic term,’’ Opoka told our reporter Thursday morning.

According to Kitgum District Police Commander, SP Oyesigye Peter, the police have apprehended two suspects, and investigations are ongoing. ‘’We have apprehended two suspects to aid in investigations,’’ he adds.

Police visited the scene, and Ocira’s body was taken to Kitgum General Hospital for the postmortem examination.
