Hoima Parish Chief arrested for alleged fraud

Rasto reportedly promised Julius Christmas Karusigalira that he could secure a job for his son, a recent agriculture graduate, using his influence with the Hoima District Service Commission.

Karusigalira stated that Rasto initially requested six million shillings but only managed to pay two million before realizing he had been scammed.

‘’He put me under pressure, and for the first time, I sent two million shillings, gave my son a form to fill out, and later said that my son was shortlisted for interviews scheduled on March 26 next year but asked for the balance of four million shillings to qualify for the interviews.’’

Karusigalira explained that his suspicions grew when he noticed a public notice at Hoima District headquarters in Kasingo warning parents about conmen soliciting money for job placements.

After discovering the warning, Karusigalira approached Hoima District Chairman Uthman Kadiri Mubarakh, who contacted Rasto.

During this conversation, Rasto admitted to taking money from Karusigalira and promised to return it, but he has yet to do so, which prompted him to report the matter to the police.

He further cautioned parents to be wary of conmen targeting desperate individuals seeking jobs for their children.
