‘’I have achieved a lot in two years,’’ Ntungamo district boss
Ntungamo: The Ntungamo District LC5 Chairperson has revealed that what was done in the two and a half years he has spent in leadership is more than what was done 10 years ago under the leadership of Johnwycliffe Karazarwe and Denis Singahache.
Chairman Sam Mucunguzi Rwakigoba said all these while at the send-off of the GISO Kagarama Town Council by the late Nyanzi Ronnie recently in Kagarama Town Council Kagamba parish Ntungamo.
He also attacked those who were in the early campaign, trying to contest against him to forget. He promised the people of Ntungamo not to be misled by pretenders, as he had just started.
Sam gave the example of the Zayituni bridge that was broken in 2013 and was worked on in 2023 under his regime with the help of former Member of Parliament Kajara County, Hon. Stephen Tashobya.
He again said that Kabukyera Road, which connects to Mitooma District, has been impassible for 10 years and has been worked on, and now people move freely with their goods. He also promised to work on the Kagarama to Nombe road before this year, 2024, ends.
Among the people who have shown interest in contesting are the councilor of Ntungamo Sub County, Hon. Naboth Mpirirwe, Ntungamo District Speaker, Twikirize Nicholas, Chairman of FDC Ntungamo District, Mr. George Karamira, and. Hon. Kabeho John Councilor Rubare Subcounty.
For the last two years, Ntungamo District has been in the limelight because of corruption-related issues. One is when the state house stormed the district, where different officials were arrested and the discovery of Ghost Health Centers was made without forgetting the road fund, which was also spotted among others.
