Kakumiro businessman robbed at gunpoint
The police officer asserted that cash worth 500,000 shillings was taken from the victim, and upon his alarm, the suspects fled the place.

Kakumiro: Police in Kakumiro district are investigating circumstances under which Obed Bangirana, 45, a businessman and a resident of Buramagi West, Igayaza town council, was robbed of cash worth five hundred thousand shillings.
Julius Allan Hakiza, the Albertine Regional Police Spokesperson, told this publication that the incident happened on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, when Bangirana had just reached home from his hardware shop.
Hakiza said that upon Bangirana reaching home while entering the garage, two armed men, one with a panga and sticks and another with a suspected gun, emerged from a nearby farm belonging to the victim and put him at gunpoint, asking him for money.

The police officer asserted that cash worth 500,000 shillings was taken from the victim, and upon his alarm, the suspects fled the place.
Hakiza stated that police visited the scene and realized that the suspects used a motorcycle since there were motorcycle tire marks in the compound, and efforts are on to arrest them.
