Kiryandongo music Producer YFOX Mukago battles stroke as MP Katusiime offers support

Medical examinations reportedly revealed a blood clot in his brain, which had caused the stroke.

Kiryandongo: The music fraternity in Kiryandongo District and neighbouring Masindi District is appealing for support for celebrated music producer and artist Alinaitwe Pascal, popularly known as YFOX Mukago or C.Cop, who is battling a stroke.

The 29-year-old producer, known for producing hit songs such as Korakyozirire, Desire, Rumba and Tindi, is currently receiving treatment after suffering a stroke reportedly caused by a blood clot in the brain.

According to his wife, C.Cop fell ill on October 21, 2026, when he suddenly lost the ability to speak and stand without assistance.

The family initially rushed him to Kyatiri Hospital before he was transferred to Hoima Regional Referral Hospital and later referred to Mulago National Referral Hospital in Kampala for specialised treatment.

Medical examinations reportedly revealed a blood clot in his brain, which had caused the stroke.

Speaking from his hospital bed, C.Cop said he was shocked by the diagnosis, revealing that he had never known he was suffering from high blood pressure.

“I didn’t know I had high blood pressure. I thought it was a condition for elderly people. At only 29 years, with four children, I am scared and going through a lot of pain,” he said.

He, however, expressed hope following some improvements in his condition, although doctors had informed him that recovery would take time.

C.Cop began his music journey in 2013 while in Senior Three at Kibanda Secondary School. Over the years, he established himself as one of the prominent music producers in Kiryandongo, helping nurture upcoming artists and providing a platform for local talent through his studio.

The Chairman of Artists in Kiryandongo District, Artist Drizzle Likely, expressed sadness over the producer’s condition and appealed to local leaders to support artists in the district.

Drizzle particularly called on Hon. Jovia Katusiime Mbabazi, the Kiryandongo District Woman MP, to ensure that local artists are given opportunities to perform during government and other public functions organised in the district.

He also urged musicians to embrace unity and support one another during difficult times to strengthen the local music industry.

Responding to the appeal, Katusiime visited the ailing producer and pledged continued support for artists in the district.

She appreciated TikTokers, bloggers and journalists for promoting local music and commended the artists’ chairman for his leadership.

The legislator also pledged to organise a meeting with music promoters in Kiryandongo to establish better ways of organising entertainment events and ensuring local artists are included.

As part of her support, Katusiime contributed 500,000 shillings towards C.Cop’s treatment and medication and donated a blood pressure monitoring machine to help him monitor his condition.

She also encouraged local musicians to improve the quality of their productions, strengthen their personal brands, build networks and adapt their music to changing audience preferences.

Meanwhile, C.Cop’s sister, Kusiima Pricila, appreciated everyone who has contributed towards her brother’s treatment, saying the support has given the family renewed hope.

She expressed optimism that her brother would recover and return to his music career.
