Zombo: Paidha Black Angels SC and Paidha United SC have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to jointly use Bar Okoro Stadium as their home ground for the 2026/27 football season, marking a new chapter of cooperation between the two Paidha-based clubs.
The MOU, signed at Chill-Out Lounge in Paidha on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, aims to facilitate the smooth hosting of competitive league fixtures by coordinating match schedules and sharing responsibilities for match-day logistics, security, gate management and stadium maintenance.
Under the agreement, Bar Okoro Stadium will serve as the official home venue for both clubs’ league matches.
Paidha Black Angels will compete in the FUFA Big League, while Paidha United will play in the West Nile Regional League.
Adebu Jerry, Vice Chairperson of Paidha Black Angels SC, said the MOU marks the beginning of a new chapter in football development in Paidha.
“This will boost football development in Paidha because Cana Playground was really far for Paidha United and its fans. We believe we will maintain Bar Okoro Stadium well because we shall not train at Bar Okoro. Instead, we shall train at Cana Playground under the management of Paidha United SC,” Adebu explained.
Adebu added that the club is committed to implementing the MOU for the benefit and success of both teams.
“We are committed to working together and following this MOU for the success of both teams,” he said.
Meanwhile, Paidha United SC Club Chairperson Robert Orombi described the historic partnership between the two clubs as a demonstration of “oneness.”
“This MOU means we are one club. Don’t say you are Paidha Black Angels, don’t say you are Paidha United SC. We are one club from today going forward,” Orombi said.
Paidha Black Angels SC Fans Chairperson Julius called on both parties to cooperate, uphold honesty and build trust as they implement the agreement.
The nine-page MOU was read by Herbert Okweda before officials from both clubs.
Paidha Black Angels SC was represented by Vice Chairperson Jerry Adebu, PRO Thomas Otwikende and Fans Chairperson Julius, among others, while Paidha United SC executives were led by Club Chairperson Robert Orombi and CEO Levious Ofoymungu.
The ceremony took place at around 1:00 p.m., with officials from both clubs subsequently signing the document to formally endorse the agreement.
Inside the M.O.U
For every Paidha United home fixture at Bar Okoro, the club will pay Black Angels 25% of the total gross gate collection before deductions.
The payment will be made immediately after verification or within seven days, with representatives from both clubs allowed to witness the gate-counting process.
Black Angels will retain all gate proceeds from its own home matches.
Both clubs will train at Kings Stadium Cana, with regular training prohibited at Bar Okoro to protect the playing surface.
The stadium will primarily be reserved for official league fixtures, unless both parties agree otherwise.
Paidha United has also committed to supporting the upgrading, maintenance and improvement of Bar Okoro Stadium, including pitch works, spectator facilities, fencing, safety and access infrastructure, as well as improvements required to meet FUFA standards.
Major works will be undertaken through joint consultation.
The clubs have further agreed to cooperate on fixture coordination, match-day operations, security and spectator management while complying with FUFA regulations and applicable football laws.
Any disputes will first be resolved through negotiation, followed by mediation and, where necessary, lawful remedies.
The MOU covers the 2026/27 season and may be extended through a further written agreement. Either club may terminate it with 30 days’ written notice after reasonable efforts to resolve any outstanding issues.
The ground-share deal is expected to give Paidha United access to a higher-standard home venue while providing Black Angels with additional gate revenue and a partner in maintaining Bar Okoro Stadium as the club targets a return to the Uganda Premier League.
Club backgrounds
Paidha Black Angels SC, founded in 1979, is one of Uganda’s oldest active community football clubs. The Paidha-based side reached the Uganda Cup final in 2016/17, losing 2-0 to KCCA FC, before earning promotion to the Uganda Premier League for the 2018/19 season after winning the FUFA Big League play-offs.
Paidha Black Angels traditionally play their home matches at Bar Okoro Stadium, which has a capacity of over 4,000 spectators and is supported heavily by the club’s passionate fan base.
Paidha United SC, founded in 2017, competes in the West Nile Regional League. The club has also featured in the Stanbic Uganda Cup Round of 64 in recent seasons, including a narrow defeat to Uganda Premier League side Maroons FC.
Previously using King’s Stadium Cana, also known as Cana Playground, Paidha United has faced challenges meeting facility requirements for competitive fixtures, making the new Bar Okoro ground-share arrangement significant for its 2026/27 campaign.
