Two detained after police discover lifeless body at Kalerwe garage

Further searches conducted in the askari’s house led to the recovery of spears and arrows.

Kampala: Police at Wandegeya Police Division have detained two suspects in connection with the murder of Kabugo, a 34-year-old resident of Kalerwe.

According to police, officers received information at around 8:00 a.m. yesterday about a body discovered near the fence of Dusuma Garage. A team of officers responded to the scene, accompanied by the Police K9 unit.

A police sniffer dog named Pepper was deployed and quickly picked up a scent from the body. The dog tracked for approximately 10 metres before entering the house of the garage security guard.

After exiting the house, the dog continued tracking around the garage premises and eventually led officers to a spot where workers usually gather during working hours.

At that location, Pepper lay down, signalling to handlers the presence of critical evidence. Officers recovered a metal bar with apparent blood stains, believed to have been used in the assault.

Further searches conducted in the askari’s house led to the recovery of spears and arrows.

The suspects, identified as Ssebuya and Johnson, remain in custody as investigations continue to establish the motive and circumstances surrounding the killing.
