Bwayo calls for unity and forgiveness among Namisindwa leaders

According to him, there is no justification for holding grudges after the electoral process has concluded.

Namisindwa: The LCV Chairperson-elect for Namisindwa District, Bwayo Emma, has urged elected leaders to embrace unity and use the ongoing fasting period as a time for reconciliation and forgiveness.

Speaking during the burial of Catherine Nambuya in Buwangota, Namabya Sub-county, Namisindwa District, Bwayo emphasized the importance of healing divisions that emerged during the recently concluded elections.

He noted that both Anglicans and Catholics are observing the Lenten season, while Muslims are fasting during Ramadan periods that encourage reflection, repentance, and renewed commitment to peaceful coexistence.

Bwayo expressed concern over leaders who continue to complain about or threaten individuals who did not support them during the elections. He described such actions as embarrassing, stressing that voters exercised their democratic right to choose candidates of their preference. According to him, there is no justification for holding grudges after the electoral process has concluded.

He called on leaders to use public gatherings to promote government programs and development initiatives instead of revisiting campaign differences. He underscored that the fasting period presents an opportunity for leaders to reconcile, heal communities, and lay a strong foundation for effective service delivery.

At the same event, Malemo George, the clan leader of Buwangota, appealed to newly elected leaders to serve diligently and remain mindful of the challenges faced by vulnerable members of the community.

He reminded them that the electorate had placed significant trust in their leadership and should not be disappointed.
