Journalist Bwayo wins Namisindwa LCV seat

He promised to streamline service delivery without fear or favour and to prioritise career growth and development for the district’s residents.

Namisindwa: Journalist Bwayo Emma, the NRM flag bearer for the Namisindwa District LCV chairperson seat, has been declared the winner of the local council elections held on Thursday, 22 January.

According to official results released by district electoral authorities, Bwayo secured 37,170 votes, defeating the incumbent chairperson Jackson Wakweika, who polled 21,619 votes.

Bwayo had earlier won the NRM party primaries held on 24 July 2025 by a wide margin, a victory that paved the way for his success in the general local council elections.

The newly elected LCV chairperson is the Marketing Manager at Nandala’s Elgon FM and currently serves as the Male Youth Councillor for Namisindwa District Local Government (2021–2026).

Speaking to the media shortly after his declaration, Bwayo pledged to remain accessible and accountable to the people of Namisindwa. He promised to streamline service delivery without fear or favour and to prioritise career growth and development for the district’s residents.

The Namisindwa District NRM Chairperson, Aramazan Wabuko, congratulated the people of Namisindwa on the victory, describing it as a strong foundation for development under the ruling party.

He called upon newly elected leaders to unite their supporters, avoid unnecessary conflicts, and urged voters to better understand the roles and responsibilities of the different elected offices.
