NEED party opens headquarters in Hoima
“We need NEED MPs from Bunyoro in Parliament who will speak with one voice and push for a fairer share of oil wealth for the people of this region,” he said.
Hoima: The National Economic Empowerment Dialogue (NEED) party has officially opened its new regional headquarters in Kijungu, Hoima City, marking a significant step in expanding its political footprint across the Bunyoro Sub-region.
The event, which took place on Sunday afternoon, September 14, 2025, was presided over by NEED President Joseph Kizza Kabuleta, who used the occasion to rally political aspirants and outline the party’s vision.
Kabuleta called upon all aspiring Members of Parliament interested in contesting on the NEED party ticket to reach out to the party immediately, noting that there is still ample time before the nomination deadlines set by the Electoral Commission.
“NEED is a fully registered and legally recognized political party by the Electoral Commission. We are ready and organized. I will personally campaign for every NEED candidate across the country,” Kabuleta stated.
Kabuleta emphasized that having elected NEED MPs is crucial for addressing Bunyoro’s longstanding socio-economic grievances, particularly around the sharing of oil and gas profits.
“We need NEED MPs from Bunyoro in Parliament who will speak with one voice and push for a fairer share of oil wealth for the people of this region,” he said.
He underscored that financial liberation remains a central pillar of the NEED party’s ideology, arguing that poverty in Uganda can only be effectively tackled if each region benefits from its natural resources.
Kabuleta also announced that starting Monday, September 15, 2025, he will begin a regional tour across all Bunyoro districts, engaging with grassroots supporters and mobilizing for the 2026 general elections.
