20-year-old found floating dead in water source

Kagadi: Tragedy has befallen Kasonga Village in Pachwa Sub-county after a 20-year-old woman, Karabyo Annet, was found dead in an open water source on Friday.
Karabyo, the daughter of Mr. Patrick Byarugaba, is believed to have drowned while fetching water.
Her body was discovered floating alongside a jerrycan, suggesting she had gone to collect water before the incident.
According to local reports, the deceased had been battling epilepsy, which may have contributed to the fatal accident.
Police officers from Kyabasara Police Post visited the scene and retrieved the body.
It was later handed over to the family for burial arrangements. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
The Kyabasara Police Post has appealed to the government to improve access to safe and protected water sources.
He emphasized that open and unprotected water points continue to pose a serious risk, not only of drowning but also of spreading waterborne diseases.
