ANT fronts Mpumwire for Rushenyi County MP seat

“This is the right time for Rushenyians to choose a leader who will champion real development,” Magambo said.

Kampala: The Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) party has officially fronted former Ntungamo district LC5 Chairmanship aspirant Mpumwire Magambo as its flag bearer for the Rushenyi County Member of Parliament seat in the upcoming parliamentary elections.

The endorsement was made during the party’s recent delegates’ conference held in Kampala, presided over by ANT President Maj. Gen. (Rtd) Mugisha Muntu, who was accompanied by other top party officials.

Maj. Gen. Muntu, a former UPDF Army Commander and ex-MP in the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA), congratulated Magambo upon his selection, expressing confidence in his leadership abilities and commitment to the people of Rushenyi.

In his acceptance speech, Magambo declared that he is fully prepared to contest and win the Rushenyi County seat, currently held by Hon. Naome Kabasharira, an Independent MP. He urged the people of Rushenyi to rally behind a leader who prioritizes development, service delivery, and inclusive governance.

“This is the right time for Rushenyians to choose a leader who will champion real development,” Magambo said. “If elected, I promise to be a true voice for Rushenyi in the August House.”

The announcement marks a significant step for ANT as it positions itself as a viable alternative in Uganda’s political landscape ahead of the general elections.
