Masindi LCV Chairman Byaruhanga, Former Ministers defeated in NRM Primaries

Masindi: Cosmas Byaruhanga, the Masindi District Local Council V (LCV) Chairman, has lost the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party flag for Bujenje County Member of Parliament to incumbent Kiiza Kenneth Nyendwoha.
In a competitive NRM primary election, Nyendwoha secured 8,081 votes, followed by Kasumba Paddy Patrick with 4,986 votes, Grace Bukirwa Byakagaba with 4,240 votes, and Byaruhanga trailing with 2,069 votes. Other candidates included Ford Kyogonza (145 votes) and Viola Busobozi (33 votes).
Moses Ogwang, the district NRM electoral commission returning officer, officially declared Nyendwoha the party’s candidate.
Ronald Aled Akugizibwe, the incumbent MP for Buruli County, retained his flag with 9,147 votes (45%), ahead of Julius Mugisa (4,140 votes), Zachues Mwetegye (3,687 votes), Stephen Kabindi (2,840 votes), and Patrick Angei (326 votes).
For Masindi Municipality, Rogers Byamukama Araali was declared the winner with 8,121 votes, defeating former Minister for State Bunyoro Affairs Ernest Kiiza Apuuli (2,789 votes) and Bob Byaruhanga (2,319 votes).
In the race for Masindi Woman MP, incumbent Dr. Florence Asiimwe garnered a strong 26,852 votes, defeating former Minister for Presidency Kabakumba Labwoni Masiko (12,573 votes) and former district woman MP Bintu Jalia Lukumu (9,479 votes).

In Buliisa District, incumbents retained their NRM flags. Allan Atugonza won the Buliisa County MP seat with 7,221 votes, followed by Charles Bedijo (5,245), Robert Kagoro Mugume (5,136), and Rogers Happy (562).
For Buliisa Woman MP, Norah Bigirwa Nyendwoha won with 7,127 votes, ahead of Lawino Fiona Mary (5,842), Harriet Kusemererwa (4,675), and Sharom Nakiiza (427).
In Kiryandongo District, Jovia Katusiime was declared the NRM flag bearer with 17,212 votes, followed by Irene Adokorach (9,129), Joseline Atuhura (3,571), Biraaro Joy Rutamwera (3,414), Katungi Birungi (2,572), Alice Kasangaki (2,032), and Florence Atugonza (1,494).
