99.9% of shortlisted candidates turn up for police interviews in Kiira Region

160 candidates successfully underwent and completed all stages of the interview process.

Jinja: The Uganda Police Force’s ongoing nationwide recruitment drive for Probationer Police Constables (PPCs) recorded a highly successful turnout in the Kiira Region, where only eight out of 168 shortlisted candidates failed to participate in the interviews held at the Jinja National Agricultural Show Grounds.

According to SP James Mubi, the Kiira Regional Police Spokesperson who addressed the media on Saturday, 160 candidates successfully underwent and completed all stages of the interview process.

The exercise, praised for its high level of organization, transparency, and discipline, was overseen by Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Zula Ganyana, who commended Kiira Region under the leadership of SSP Charles Nsaba for its excellent coordination and time management.

“The exercise started at 0800 hours and concluded at 1800 hours without any incidents or disruptions. There were no reported cases of forged academic documents or other irregularities,” said ACP Ganyana. “All candidates were properly briefed and debriefed.”

The event was graced by several dignitaries, including; Mr. Richard Gulume, RCC Jinja City, Mr. Andrew Ntange, Deputy RDC Jinja District, SSP David Katunda, Deputy RPC, SSP Andrew Muzira, Regional Human Resource Officer, the three District Police Commanders (DPCs) from the region and various local leaders and stakeholders.

ACP Ganyana emphasized that the recruitment process is entirely free of charge, transparent, and merit-based, urging candidates to maintain discipline and clean conduct within their communities, calling them “police ambassadors.” She also cautioned female candidates against early pregnancies while awaiting the final list of successful recruits.

RCC Richard Gulume reiterated the government’s ongoing commitment to job creation, particularly through structured recruitment in the Uganda Police and sister security forces.

“A modern police officer should be knowledgeable, technologically compliant, ideologically grounded, articulate, smart, and disciplined ready to serve anywhere in the country,” emphasized the Regional Police Commander.

The final list of successful PPC candidates who will report to the Police Training School in Kabalye, Masindi District, will be published via Official Uganda Police Force social media platforms, Public notice boards at regional and main police stations and local radio stations across the country
