Meanwhile, Ojera Alex is on the run, and police are actively searching for him.

Agago: A tragic domestic dispute in Barajwa Village, Adilang subcounty, Agago District, ended in the death of 48-year-old Atuku Jenneth, who was allegedly strangled by her husband, Ojera Alex, on Thursday, March 6, 2025.
According to Aswa East Regional Police Spokesperson, IP Oloya Joe, the couple had been burning charcoal in the bush and storing it in their grass-thatched house.
While they were away collecting more, their house burned down, likely due to embers from the charcoal that had not been fully extinguished.
Upon returning, an argument erupted when Ojera attempted to sell the remaining charcoal to buy alcohol. Atuku opposed his decision and grabbed him by the shirt, leading to a struggle during which his shirt was torn.
In the heat of the altercation, Ojera allegedly punched Atuku in the neck, causing her to collapse unconscious.
Okot Andrew, the Secretary of Barajwa Village LCI, rushed her to Doctor Fragale Hospital in Adilang for treatment, but she was pronounced dead on arrival.
Following the incident, Okot Andrew reported the case to Adilang Police Station.
Investigators later visited the scene, and Atuku’s body was taken to Kalongo Hospital for a postmortem examination. Meanwhile, Ojera Alex is on the run, and police are actively searching for him.
Authorities have launched a full investigation into the suspected murder.
