Paidha: Paidha United SC kicked off the second leg of their regional league campaign in style with a commanding 3-0 victory over Arua City FC at King Stadium Cana in Paidha Town Council, Zombo District, on Sunday, February 23, 2025.
The Zombo-based outfit started the game on a high note, taking an early lead in the first half, thanks to a clinical finish by Ronie, their talisman of the day.
United doubled their lead through midfielder Pogba, who slotted the ball past the visitors’ goalkeeper, giving the home side a comfortable 2-0 advantage.
As the first half drew to a close, veteran striker Ronie was set up by midfielder Pogba, only to be brought down at the edge of the box, earning United a free kick that failed to materialize.
Despite being on the back foot, Arua City FC kept up the pressure, especially in midfield. However, their attacks were well contained by United’s resolute defense.

The second half turned tense when United striker Ronald Ogencan received a second yellow card for fouling an Arua City defender, leaving his team a man down.
Final Nail in the Coffin
In the dying moments of the match, Ronie sealed United’s victory with a well-timed header, bagging his second goal of the day and securing a 3-0 win for the home side.
Midfielder Zaza came close to adding a fourth, but his strike hit the woodwork in what was a dominant second half for Paidha United.
Paidha United’s win has been attributed to recent squad reinforcements, having signed four locally scouted players during the January transfer window. Two of the new signings featured in this match.
Robert Orombi, the club’s technical manager, praised his team, expressing confidence that they can secure promotion to the Big League next season.
“We are eyeing the top position in Nyagak Zone. We want to be number one, and our focus is on the Big League,” Orombi told this publication in a post-match press conference at King Stadium Cana.
Meanwhile, Arua City head coach Saidi Aloro commended his players for their effort despite fatigue and missing key players who have returned to school.
“We came here after a long journey, and fatigue affected our performance. However, our boys played their hearts out. Many of our key players are currently in school, but we encourage our fans to continue supporting us,” Aloro said.
Paidha United will travel over 50 kilometers to Arua District for their next match against Ovisoni FC.
In the previous seasons, Paidha United struggled to finish high in the second leg, but Orombi assured fans that the club’s new signings will help secure a strong finish this time.
Paidha United finished third in the first leg of the season, behind Nebbi Central and Kuluva Rainbow, who secured first and second place, respectively.

Nebbi Central FC defeated Ovisoni FC in Arua District to maintain their position at the top of the table.
Arua Airfield and Pakwach Young Stars played out a 0-0 stalemate.
