Nandala urges residents to prioritize education as new school term approaches

He encouraged parents to make education a priority and support one another to ensure children access the best educational opportunities.

Bugisu: Parents in the Bugisu sub-region have been urged to adequately prepare for the new academic term beginning February 2, 2025.

Budadiri West MP Nathan Nandala Mafabi delivered this message while addressing mourners at the burial of Leonard Waniale, the uncle of Rev. Jackson Magombe, Director of Operations in the Office of the MP for Budadiri West.

Nandala, who also chairs the Bugisu Cooperative Union, emphasized that the greatest gift parents can offer their children is quality education.

He encouraged parents to make education a priority and support one another to ensure children access the best educational opportunities.

He also called on residents to support local schools and collaborate with education supervisory and inspection boards to improve academic performance. According to Nandala, success in education requires a collective effort from all stakeholders.

Rev. Jackson Magombe expressed his gratitude to all who supported his family during their loss. He revealed that the deceased succumbed to intestinal obstruction and raised concerns about the growing number of deaths caused by similar conditions over the past three weeks. Magombe urged medical professionals to investigate and address the issue.

Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Party President Patrick Amuriat Oboi, who attended as the chief mourner, criticized the poor performance of government schools in certain regions.

Amuriat alleged that this trend was a deliberate strategy to disadvantage specific areas academically. He urged residents to counter this by ensuring their children receive quality education to secure their futures.
