Over 3900 pass PLE in Namisindwa as private schools shine 

Namisindwa: Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB) on Thursday afternoon released the 2024 Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) noting a better overall performance than 2023.

According to UNEB Executive Director Dan Odongo, a total of 797, 444 pupils from 14.883 centres registered for PLE compared to 749, 347 in 2023.

In Namisindwa district, a total of 4789 candidates registered for PLE in 2024 in 94 centres accross the district. According to Lusayi William the Namisindwa District Inspector of schools, 2205 were male and 2584 were female .

Lusayi further revealed that the district PLE summary analysis indicate gradual improvement in Division one to three and decline in division four and  ungraded compared to previous three years which he says it’s a Commendable performance. He explained that the district got 129 in Division 1, 1538 in Division 2, 1496 in Division 3, 747 in Division 4, 824 in division U and 55 in division X representing 96.1%.

Emma Bwayo, the Namisindwa Male Youth councilor who is also a member of the council standing committee of education congratulated the pupils adding that it’s just the start for their academic career. He appreciated parents for the sacrifice advising that all children who qualified for A-level need to push on next step. He says teachers deserve special appreciation for the good performance.

Rogers Wabutubile the director of Bupoto Arise and Shine Nursary and Primary school in Bupoto celebrated the milestone saying it has always been God. He appreciated parents for entrusting him with pupils. All the 27 pupils passed in Division one and two(15 got Division 1, 12 in division 2) with the best two scoring 9 aggregates.

At Top Nursery and Primary school in Nabitsikhi, Director Wanabuya George William attributed the good performance to timely payment of school dues by parents. All the 29 candidates passed with the best scoring 12 aggregates.
