16 injured as bus overturns in Kiryandongo

Kiryandongo: Sixteen people are nursing wounds at Kiryandongo Hospital after the bus they were traveling in overturned.
The Makome bus, which was carrying 55 people, overturned Tuesday morning at around 5 a.m. at Kichwabungingo in Kiryandongo district, leaving 16 people injured.
It was reported that the bus registration number UAR 339/M, which was coming from Kampala to Gulu, lost control and was overturned several times.
Julius Allan Hakiza, the Albertine police spokesperson, confirmed the incident to this publication, describing it as a single serious accident.
Hakiza attributed the accident to a loss of control by the driver, which caused the bus to overturn, stressing that the driver was still on the run.
Okot Charles, the director of the Makome bus company, confirmed the incident, saying they had evacuated the 16 victims and rushed them to Kiryandongo Hospital and Gulu City for medication while their cargo was towered to the Makome Gulu office for safety.
