Yumbe mock examination results shocking

Yumbe: Yumbe district has officially released the primary leaving mock examinations results for this year.
Out of the 5,829 pupils who sat for the examinations, 127 passed in division one, 1,609 passed in division two, 2,025 in division three, 915 in division four and 191 did not appear or got division x.
According to Luruga Rasulu the district education officer Yumbe, out of the 129 candidates who got first grade 104 were Ugandans while 23 were South Sudanese.
‘’Out of the 129 candidates who got first grade 104 were Ugandans while 23 were South Sudanese,’’ he said, adding that in division two out of 1,609 candidates, 1053 were Ugandans while 556 were South Sudanese.
In division three, out of the 2025, 1226 were Ugandans while 793 were south Sudanese. ‘’In division four, out of 926 candidates, 584 are Ugandans while 378 are south Sudanese,’’ he further added.
Luruga also noted that out of 915 Division U, 672 are Ugandans and 247 South Sudanese. ‘’Meanwhile in division x, 137 were Ugandans while 27 were South Sudanese.’’
He attributed poor parenting, negative attitude towards education, early and forced marriages among others as the major cause of the poor performance in schools.
He appeals to all the stakeholders to play their roles.
Lemeriga Fadhil the Prime Minister Aringa Kingdom says in order to improve on the results there is need for sensitization for all the education stake holders within Yumbe so that there is improvement of results.
Yumbe has a total of 158 primary schools of which 21 are private and 137 are government aided.
These schools are accommodating a total population of 586,072 learners of which 178,782 are refugees.
