Woman found dead in newly-established Kamuli Guest House
This lack of registration has raised serious concerns regarding the guest house’s adherence to safety and security regulations.
Kamuli: Kamuli Police have arrested Joseph Takayuuka, the manager of Savannah Guest House, after the body of a deceased female client was discovered on the premises.
The incident occurred in Gabula-Kitimbo Zone, Kasoigo Ward, Northern Division, Kamuli Municipality. According to Michael Kasadha, the Busoga North Police spokesperson, the woman’s lifeless body was found on January 11, 2025, at around 8 am.
Police were alerted to the death and quickly initiated an investigation. Preliminary findings reveal that Savannah Guest House had only been operational for a week and had failed to establish proper client registration systems, a legal requirement for such facilities.
This lack of registration has raised serious concerns regarding the guest house’s adherence to safety and security regulations.
Kasadha stated, “The failure to register clients is a breach of safety protocols, and we are working to uncover how this could have contributed to the incident.”
The body has been transferred to Kamuli General Hospital’s mortuary for a postmortem examination to determine the cause of death. Authorities are also investigating whether foul play was involved in the woman’s death.
The arrest of the guest house manager is part of the ongoing investigation to gather vital information about the circumstances surrounding the incident. Police are urging anyone with information about the deceased or the events leading to her death to come forward.
