UNEB introduces new measures aimed at curbing malpractices during PLE
She clarified that this measure is solely to combat examination malpractice and should not alarm the community.
Masindi: The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has implemented new measures to prevent malpractices in the upcoming Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE), which commence today, November 6, 2024.
This announcement was made by Monica Kiiza, the Acting Masindi District Education Officer (DEO), during a press briefing on November 5, 2024.
Among the key measures, UNEB has mandated that each examination distributor be accompanied by a police officer to deter any leakage of exam materials a common issue in previous years.
Kiiza clarified that this measure is solely to combat examination malpractice and should not alarm the community.
She emphasized the importance of integrity during the exams, warning candidates and teachers against engaging in any form of cheating, as offenders will face legal consequences.
Kiiza also encouraged parents and teachers to ensure that all registered candidates participate in the exams and that no candidate should be prevented from taking them.
To boost candidates’ confidence, she advised them to trust in the knowledge they have gained and reminded parents to provide the necessary support and supplies for a smooth examination experience.
