Two detained over murder

Masindi: The Masindi police have apprehended two suspects in connection with a case of mob justice.
Patrick Businge, 25, and Gloria Nabuliime, 30, both residents of Rwenkole cell in Buliima town council, are currently held at Masindi Central Police Station.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, around 5 p.m., when the suspects allegedly beat Sam Wobusobozi, 25, leaving him in a coma.
They accused Wobusobozi of stealing a goat and subsequently dumped him on a sugarcane plantation in the same area.
Unfortunately, Wobusobozi passed away upon arrival at Masindi Hospital after his relatives rushed him there for treatment.
Julius Allan Hakiza, the Albertine Region Police Spokesperson, says police were alerted, and they immediately initiated an investigation that led to the arrest and detention of the two suspects as the hunt for other suspects is ongoing.
‘’We have initiated an investigation, and while the two suspects are in custody, we continue to search for other individuals involved in the incident.’’
