Sugarcane vendor knocked dead along Hoima-Buliisa Road

Police from Kigorobya police station rushed to the scene and conveyed the lifeless body to Kigorobya Health Centre IV for postmortem.

Hoima: Police in Hoima are investigating an accident that claimed the life of a sugarcane vendor along the Hoima-Buliisa-Wanseko road.

The incident happened on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at around 5 a.m. in Kibengeya Village, Kibengeya Parish, Kapapi Sub County, Hoima District.

The deceased, who couldn’t be identified by the time of publication, was a resident of Kijongo village in Kijongo subcounty, Kigorobya county, Hoima District.

He was knocked by an unknown speeding truck while reporting for work in Runga landing site in the same district.

According to the LC1 chairperson for Kibengeya, Mr. Joseph Wandera, the lifeless body was discovered on Saturday morning by roadside passers.

‘’His body was discovered along the roadside by the passers; his bicycle and sugarcane were by his side.’’
