State House speaks out on appointment of Yorokamu as EC Chairman

Entebbe: State House of Uganda has clarified that the reports circulating on social media regarding the appointment of Hon. Justice Yorokamu Bamwine as Chairman of the Electoral Commission, with Hon. Syda Bbumba as his deputy, are false.
Faruk Kirunda, Deputy Press Secretary to President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, dismissed the information as “fake news.”
He urged the public to disregard these claims, assuring that official announcements about such appointments will be made through proper channels.
“The General Public is called upon to regard as FAKE NEWS the social media story indicating that H.E. Kaguta Museveni has appointed Hon. Justice Yorokamu Bamwine to head the Electoral Commission, and to be deputized by Hon. Syda Bbumba,” Kirunda stated.
