Bukedea: The Speaker of Parliament, Annet Anita Among, over the weekend landed in Bukedea district to inspect the construction works of a development project and a football stadium.
The stadium is expected to host the East African Games (FEASA), slated to commence on August 16, 2024. The two schools, Bukedea Comprehensive School and Amus College School, are the hosts.
According to the speaker, hosting the East African Games is a great achievement for Uganda as a country and for Bukedea at large.
“The people of Bukedea will conduct business and make money during these games, said Speaker Among.
Speaker Among was later joined by the Bukedea district leaders, headed by district chairperson Mary Akol.
Professor Jonas Gumisiriza, the managing director of Bukedea Comprehensive School, told this publication that the host school is set.
“As hosts, we are more than ready to host; come rain, come sunshine, and our boys and girls are well prepared, said Gumisiriza.
However, Mary Akol of the Bukedea district urged the residents to be ready to conduct business in order to generate income at household levels.
She said this will be a great opportunity for the people of Bukedea.
