Shameless man defiles cousin in Arua

Arua: Authorities in Arua City are investigating a case of aggravated defilement involving a 24-year-old man accused of assaulting his 12-year-old cousin in Orivu Cell, Alivu Ward, Ayivu West Division.
The alleged incident occurred on the night of November 12, 2024, when the child was left at home with the suspect while her father was at work.
Reports indicate that the victim shared a room with the suspect, during which the assault took place.
The victim’s father, Mr. Azubu Relev, a 70-year-old resident of the area, reported the matter to the Ayivu West Police Station.
The suspect was promptly arrested and is currently detained at Arua Central Police Station, pending further investigations.
Collins Asea, the West Nile Region Police Spokesperson, has assured the public of a thorough investigation. He urged parents to exercise caution, particularly during school holidays, to prevent such incidents.
“We advise parents not to allow children of such age groups to share rooms with male adults, especially during holidays,” he said, emphasizing the need for vigilance to ensure children’s safety.
The police reaffirm their commitment to justice and protecting vulnerable individuals, stressing the importance of collective efforts to foster a safer community.
