Serere: A secondary teacher attached to Bukedea Comprehensive Secondary School on Friday declared interest in jumping out of teaching and joining politics.
John Robert Omunyokol, who hails from Amese Village, Abuket Parish, Kyere Sub County, Serere District, is apparently the first teacher in Serere to declare his intentions to join active politics.
He said as Uganda commemorates 38 years of liberation, being a NRM party-loyal candidate, his interest is to represent the people of Serere County as a member of parliament in the coming 2026 elections.
“I want to congratulate my people of Serere and the fellow Ugandans. I wish you a happy Liberation Day celebration,” said Mr. Omunyokol.
Omunyokol is eying to replace the incumbent, Emmanuel Omoding, the son of the late Okabe.
