Relief as Kikuube residents get clean water

He says the four boreholes they have commissioned today will serve at least 1000 home steads in Buhaguzi East constituency.

Kikuube: Residents of Kakopo village Rwamutonga LC1 have alarmed over inadequate safe water supply in their area thus calling upon government to take action.

Hellen Ayesiga a resident of Kakopo village in Rwamutonga LC1 revealed that they are facing a very big challenge of water in the area.

Ayesiga says they currently fetch water from the swamps and they share it with animals adding that they are also suffering from Bilharzia infections.

Betty Kusemererwa also a resident of the same village says apart from water challenges they also move long distance to get medical attention since they get a lot of complications due to poor water sources.

She says they even go up to Wambabya River to get water and in the end their children fall sick to the extent of vomiting blood.

This was disclosed today during the hand over 4 boreholes that have been donated to different villages in Bugambe sub county, Buhaguzi East in kikuube district by seed Trust USA together with seed foundation Uganda in partnership to with Itaza development foundation.

The villages where these boreholes where constructed are St.Andrew C.O.U in Kyakirube village, St.Anatoli Kirigwaijo in Kyaruhutu village, St. Johns C.O.U in Katanga village and the forth one in Muhwiju-Kyamwija village.

Joseph Nkwatiramunda Police the LC III of Bugambe Sub County unveiled that they are facing challenges of poor health in Bugambe since they don’t have safe water thus much of the time people spend it in hospitals.

Nkwatiramunda says with the continuation of such water projects, water borne diseases will be history in Bugambe.

Hon. Steven Aseera Rwaitaza the Member of Parliament Buhaguzi East appreciated Herbert Asiimwe the director Seed foundation Uganda through his lobbing from Seed Trust USA for constructing all the above boreholes and many more that are yet to be constructed.

Aseera says the four boreholes they have commissioned today will serve at least 1000 home steads in Buhaguzi East constituency.

He asked the public to solicit little money that will be able to repair the borehole in case it breaks down.
