Private security guard murdered in cold blood
Authorities have raised concerns over how the assailant was able to breach security and commit the crime without being detected.

Kaliro: The Territorial Police in Kaliro District are searching for unknown assailants responsible for the brutal murder of a 23-year-old private security guard who was on duty at Stabex Fuel Station in Kaliro Town Council on Sunday night.
The deceased has been identified as Musaba David, a security guard attached to K. Night Security LTD and a resident of the Industrial Area in Kaliro Town Council, where the incident occurred.
According to preliminary investigations, Musaba reported for his night shift duty on Sunday, February 23, 2025, alongside his colleague, Ojara Daniel.
Musaba was last seen by his fellow security guard at around 2AM, at 3:36AM, CCTV footage captured an unidentified assailant, wearing a distinctive red cap and armed with a hoe, ambushing Musaba while he was sleeping at the service bay.
The attacker struck him three times on the head, inflicting fatal injuries. At 4:00AM, Musaba’s lifeless body was discovered in a pool of blood, with his rifle resting on his body.
The CCTV footage further revealed that the assailant managed to carry out the attack undetected before stealing a Bajaj Boxer motorcycle (Reg. No. UGG 805V) from the service bay and fleeing the scene.
Upon receiving the report, police officers led by the District Police Commander (DPC) arrived at the crime scene. They recovered Musaba’s SMG rifle with three rounds of ammunition before transporting his body to Bumanya HC IV mortuary for a postmortem examination.
Authorities have raised concerns over how the assailant was able to breach security and commit the crime without being detected.
There are suspicions of weak security measures at the fuel station and possible negligence by the second security guard, who took too long to realize his colleague had been killed.
As investigations continue, police are also reviewing security protocols at the fuel station to determine how such a serious security lapse occurred.
