Pader kicks off Shs4bln mini pipe water connection project
Pader District's water coverage currently stands at 95%, but its functionality is at 74%.
Pader: The Pader district local government has started the construction work to connect a mini-pipe water system to eight trading centers.
This announcement was made by the Pader district vice chairperson, LCV, Hon. Ocen Justin, in an exclusive interview with this publication.
According to Hon. Ocen Justin, the district received four billion shillings in funding from the Ministry of Water for the mini-pipe water connection in eight trading centers.
The trading centers include Alim in Lapul Subcounty, Rackoko and Lagile in Lunyiri Subcounty, Ogom, Laguti, Okinga, Amoko in Latanya Subcounty, and Oguta in Bongtiko Subcounty.
Ocen also mentioned that Nexus Green Construction Company Limited is undertaking the work, which is expected to be completed within six months.
He appealed to the local people to take full ownership of the project through water boards, which will be instituted to manage the facilities, adding that the water project aims to improve accessibility to clean water in the district.
