OPM delivers 1,230 iron sheets to Kitgum
The support is intended to facilitate the roofing of several church buildings across the district.

Kitgum: The Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) on Wednesday, 10th December 2025, delivered 1,230 iron sheets to Kitgum District following successful lobbying efforts by Minister Lillian Aber in collaboration with the district leadership.
The support is intended to facilitate the roofing of several church buildings across the district.
Minister Aber said the iron sheets were secured through her formal requests to the OPM and continuous coordination with district authorities to improve places of worship and other community development structures.
According to Minister Aber, the iron sheets were distributed to the following churches include; Daudi Okello and Jildo Irwa Catholic Chapel got 200 iron sheets, St. John of the Cross got 230 iron sheets, St. Anthony Padua Chapel got 200 iron sheets, St. Phillip Church of Uganda got 200 iron sheets, St. John the Baptist Acutomer got 200 iron sheets and Faith Mission Church got 200 iron sheets.
The handover ceremony was presided over by the Deputy Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Kitgum, Komakech Walter Oyoo, and attended by the District LCV Chairperson, the District Internal Security Officer (DISO), a representative from the Chief Administrative Officer’s office, and various church leaders.
Deputy RDC Komakech commended Minister Aber for her consistent efforts in securing emergency and development support for Kitgum District. He also applauded President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for the government’s continued assistance to the district.
Kitgum District LCV Chairperson, Arwai Christopher Obol, described the donation as a timely Christmas gift for the beneficiary churches.
He encouraged recipients to use the iron sheets for their intended purpose and urged voters to re-elect Minister Lillian Aber to sustain the momentum of such impactful interventions.
Minister Aber reaffirmed her commitment to supporting Kitgum District through various channels. She noted that the iron sheets are part of a broader portfolio of support she has been securing for schools, churches, and health facilities through persistent follow-ups with government agencies.
