Ntungamo: The Deputy Resident District Commissioner for Ntungamo, Rosemary Atuhaire, has cautioned health workers in the district to shun the habit of absenteeism.
The warning was sounded on Wednesday at the post-implementation meeting for the child health days held at the district council hall.
Atuhaire revealed that during her monitoring visits, it was found out that the health workers have developed a tendency to absent themselves from duty without official leave, which she reveals cripples service delivery, and she tasked the authorities in the district with taking action against the errant health workers.

Beatrice Chemisto, the acting Ntungamo district health officer, revealed that her office is in the process of taking action against health workers who have been implicated in the vice.
Chemisto also commended UNICEF for supporting health care in Ntungamo and Uganda in general, saying that the support is a great boost towards effective health service delivery.
The meeting was attended by district health team members in charge of health facilities, immunization focal persons, and data managers.
